How does Nasonex Work?
Allergies occur when a person’s immune system has a reaction to something in the environment. These particles are called allergens, many of which are airborne, and can be breathed in and cause an allergic reaction.
Nasonex contains mometasone furoate, which is a type of corticosteroid. This kind of medicine reduces inflammation, therefore relieving symptoms of an allergic reaction. Nasonex is a once daily spray. It works in the nose to reduce inflammation and help ease allergic reactions.
Nasonex can also help prevent seasonal symptoms of hayfever if it is used before exposure. Used in this way, it is a great tool in helping control allergy symptoms from the start.
History of Nasonex
Nasonex (Mometasone Furoate) was FDA approved on October 1, 1997 and is manufactured by Schering.
